A sad day in the Bigfoot Community

It is with a very sad heart that I have to announce the passing of a very dear friend and fellow researcher, Philip Spencer. He was one of the original bigfoot researchers in Kentucky with whom I owe a ton gratitude of thanks to. I've learned a wealth of knowledge from this amazing and wise friend. For over 20 years he investigated bigfoot reports in Kentucky along with other mysterious creatures.... He was an honest, fun-loving man who could tell "the best" campfire stories around! The first time I met him for lunch in Anderson County, I was taken back by how many people came up to him and gave a huge hug! I could tell right away how much he was loved. Philip past away by his partner's side, Kat, in his home this morning. He is survived by his two sons, Chris and Travis, along with precious grandchildren, Ben and Christina. Philip, buddy, you will be sorely missed. I hope you're able to explore this new dimension of your life. Squatch on partner, squatch on!!!

What is infrasound and how it pertains to Bigfoot

What is infrasound and how it pertains to Bigfoot
Infrasound, also know as low-frequency sound, is sound that occurs at a frequency lower than 20 Hertz (Hz) or cycles per second. The typical limit of human hearing is above 30-40 cycles at best but is expressed at the maximums of 20 to 20,000 Hz. Hearing becomes gradually less sensitive as frequency decreases or increase above or below that range, so for humans to perceive infrasound, the force or intensity must be sufficiently high. The ear is the primary organ for sensing infrasound, but at higher intensities it is possible to feel infrasound vibrations in various parts of the body. After all sound is a mechanical wave and travels through liquid and solid better than air, and the body is just a bag of water supported by our skeletal structure.
Infrasound sometimes results naturally from severe weather, surf, earthquakes, volcanoes, waterfalls, and other phenomena and while humans and animals can feel these vibrations, they pose no threat. Infrasound is also generated by human-made processes such as sonic booms and explosions, machinery and even large subwoofer loudspeakers, the reason for a bounding headache at a rock concert other than loud bad music:)
Whales, elephants, hippos, rhinos, all the pachyderms generate infrasound as do other animals like giraffes and even gators. Infrasound to used as a form of long distance communicate, even over hundreds of miles in the case of whales. Whale sounds and even rhinos has been shown to produce infrasound frequencies as low as 3 Hz. When a tiger roars, not only is there audible sound but infrasound around 18 Hz and lower. Now it gets interesting. Animals have been known to perceive infrasonic waves going through the earth by natural disasters and use these as an early warning such as in tsunami were animals reported fleeing the area hours before the actual tsunami hit. Tigers and other animals are thought to also use infrasound to stun or confuse prey before attaching. Deer and other ungulates have been know to act confused instead of running prior to tigers attacking them. One study suggests that infrasound may cause feelings of awe or fear in humans as well and they often attribute this effect to something odd or that an actual supernatural event is taking place.
Now to Bigfoot. It is believed by many researches that Bigfoot can produce infrasound. With their nasal structure and large chest it is high within the realm of possibility and likely probable, and those of us that have experienced it first hand know it as fact. Gorillas are also known to produce infrasound as well so it is not that far of a stretch of science to attribute this effect to a creature as large as Bigfoot or Sasquatch. Some of the reported experiences of infrasound are, feel of dread or fear and a need to leave the immediate area, confusion, nausea and abdominal pain and even disorientation and dizziness. Some researchers, especially those that have experienced infrasound believe Bigfoot uses it to intimidate people to leave their area or in hunting like big cats. Now why is it that some experience infrasound with Bigfoot and others do not, and while some do onetime and then not at others? Some people are more sensitive to infrasound than other are, and it is likely that infrasound takes time to master and develop as a skill and possibly only older Bigfoot with a larger chest cavity can generate that frequency needed can produce infrasound.
There is a lot of research on infrasound, and currently the military is experimenting with its use as a form of non-lethal, or as currently being admitted, form of combat. Ask any questions and I will try to answer to the best of my ability and please feel free to share your own experiences that you think may be attributed to infrasound and your comments. I am always open to respectful comments and enjoy good debate as it stimulates thought and furthers knowledge and research.

Northern KY Bigfoot Research Group Field Report and Overnight Expedition 5-25-14

Northern KY Bigfoot Research Group Field Report and Overnight Expedition 5-25-14
On 05/25/2014, the 3 primary investigators returned to the Trimble County habitation area to continue our investigation after the overnight stay directly in the Bigfoot habitat on 5-17-14. Thomas Shay and Rodney Adams lead investigators, and Bob “Wolfman” Bratcher biologist and science writer of the Northern Kentucky Bigfoot Research Group of Trimble County Kentucky made up the investigators mee...ting at 3PM. The team was also joined by Bob’s wife Laura who often accompanies Bob on his outings and is a seasoned Squatcher herself. In the area multiple new foot prints and tree bends, breaks and structures were found and documented. Also a new structure that appeared to be a dwelling like structure was found near the main trail in. These structures Bob likes to call Squatch Huts and may serve as shelter or hunting blind as this one sits right off a main game trail. This structure was not seen on the previous night investigation. This evidence is some of what Bob as a biologist finds the most interesting as it is supportive evidence of a higher intelligence the team believes these beings to possess.

The new gifts of corn bread, hotdogs and sardines in two different areas left from the overnight study were all accepted. The hot dog wrapper was empty, the corn bread gone and the lid of the sardines had been removed and the can completely cleaned out. The can and lid were then placed under the tree where the gift had been left. This rules out any small animal as the lid could only be removed with something with hands, and the can was otherwise undamaged and no teeth marks could be seen.
The team heard movement and heavy foot fall from multiple directions and distant walking was heard via parabolic dish heading away from the area. One figure was spotted for a brief glimpse and was grey in color as is often reported in Trimble County, but disappeared as quickly as it was spotted in the now heavy growth, video is still being examined in hope we caught something. The team also heard multiple vocalizations and several episodes of characteristic chatter but with a higher female quality and a strange laugh like quality at the end. This was the first time the team has experienced this strange new phenomena. Several whoops, a few whistles, howls and knocks were also heard. Multiple use of recorders was attempted and these are being listened to and analyzed as this report is posting and will be shared should they provide further evidence once reviewed. We know some of the vocals were captured and will know more once everything is scrutinized and this will be posted as well.
Thanks for your interest and support and stay tuned for upcoming exciting news and more of our efforts to identify the hominid roaming Trimble County Kentucky we all know as Bigfoot.

subject of the evidence that the group has been presenting

I have refrained from posting thus far, but if would like to comment on the posts that have been said on the subject of the evidence that the group has been presenting. I ask forgiveness ahead of time for being long winded as well. I am Thomas Shay's wife so I am a little biased and don't like anyone questioning him. That being said, I am a Bigfoot skeptic. However, I read all of his evidence as well as sit and watch Finding Bigfoot, Mountain Monsters, and all those other shows that are a bit painful for me to endure. I will say that the evidence presented by this group is every bit as strong and compelling as anything I have ever seen on these shows. This should be quite compelling considering that this is a group of country boys who have zero funding. The group leader, aka my husband, is a disabled veteran who has a wife on dialysis and sick most of the time and a five year old boy to take care of. Rodney Adams has a full time job that requires frequent travel, and a wife and teenage daughter. I don't know a great deal about Robert Wolfman Bratcher, having only met him once, but I know he is a busy guy with a family of his own. They don't have a flir or other equipment other than cell phones and what guests have who squatch with them. Yet they have evidence. They work hard, they don't ask for money from anyone, and they want to put what they have out there for everyone to see. If there is a question, ask the question. However, it only looks bad on the author when one asks a dozen questions and then states that they are skeptical, not of Bigfoot, but of the group...that's just insulting. Then accusing the group of making fun of believers....why not go ahead and call them hoaxers. How is that anything but an insult? These are good guys who are just trying to put out the information out there. Have questions? So do they! There out there trying to get answers. When they have answers, they will post them. Until then, you will have to be satisfied with what they have. And if you don't like it, leave. These boys gain nothing by you membership, or by doing this research. They do it for themselves. They don't have to convince anyone of anything. If your interested, read. If your not, don't. P.S. No one cares about haunted houses. It does not bolster your credibility in the Bigfoot community as they are unrelated. There are paranormal sites for that. And that, boys, is my long winded poorly written rant....thank you for pretending to read it.

Trimble county resident recalls encounter

Both encounters were on Rodgers rd at the very back of pecks pike Milton. The first time I was going to close up our chickens like every night, occasionally some of our hens would cross the fence into the woods an lay eggs so I went to round up the few stragglers. When I stepped a few feet into the woods I started to hear a low growl, it startled me but I thought it must be the neighbors dog . I called out to try and calm him down or shoo him off but when I took another step there was a grunt and crushing brush as something ran off through the trees. The next time me and a friend were around a campfire when we heard a call like nothing I've ever heard. It's hard to explain how it sounded but it started off like a deep call but switched in pitch by the end to sounding almost like a lady, it is very hard to explain through text but I have spent my whole life in these woods and I've heard both bobcats and foxs and that was neither of those. I can't say for sure what either encounter was but I believe it was something I have never seen before

Northern KY Bigfoot Research Group Field Report and Overnight Expedition 5-17-14

Northern KY Bigfoot Research Group Field Report and Overnight Expedition 5-17-14
On 05/17/2014, the 3 primary investigators returned to the Trimble County habitation area to continue our investigation with an overnight stay directly in the Bigfoot habitat. Thomas Shay and Rodney Adams lead investigators, and Bob “Wolfman” Bratcher biologist and science writer of the Northern Kentucky Bigfoot Research Group of Trimble County Kentucky made up the investigators meeting at 12PM. The team was also joined by Tim Pierce now in training to run an affiliate group covering Indiana called Indiana Bigfoot rangers. This continuing study of our habituation site was our first overnight excursion into the Bigfoot territory and the team was excited and apprehensive. Tom took the team expedition gear in by 4 wheeler while Bob lead Tim through the area pointing out all the tree structures we have documented. Soon in the territory Bob and Tim spotted a fresh print still moist with water as having been freshly made, the prints were excellent visually but our photograph for some reason did not turn out any detail and was very disappointing and likely due to Tim using a new and unfamiliar camera and Bob having packed his on the quad. Tim was like a child at Xmas seeing all the evidence in our area. One thing we noticed was that the turtle shell we were gifted in the past that was placed upon a stump has been removed and we were unable to locate it.
Once in the habituation site camp was set up directly in the main trail they utilize. In the early day portion the team heard several distinct knocks right upon our arrival. The knocks were heard from two different ridges, the habituation area is surrounded by 2 canyons and multiple hills and ridges with three run off streams. Not only did the team here knocks but several growls and a howl during the daytime. Use of parabolic dish and microphone reveal additional chatter and grows faint to the human ear and off on the most distant ridge from the camp. During the day the team heard movement and Tom saw a dark figure moving through the distant foliage where Bob and Tim had found the print, Bob also saw the creature, tall and dark colored moving back and forth between two large trees. Bob was able to get a single picture at extreme distance using 10x telephoto lens and digital added zoom. The picture like many is blurry but reveals a creature peeking out behind a tree and shows the head with characteristic no neck and some face details if looked closely and the upper body with shoulders.
Rodney Adams joined the team around 7:30 to join in the excitement and investigation. That night around 1-2 Am the team heard additional movement, a distant howl and all the dogs over the adjacent ridge going crazy. We also heard some unusual sounding howls, a type we were not accustomed to hearing that were higher pitched with a almost cat like scream quality. These vocalizations went on for over an hour with additional characteristic howls as well. Once the activity quieted down around two and the night grew exceptionally cold, the team medic made the announcement that it was time to retire to the warmth of the base camp tent and heater, which the team was thankful that Robert provided. Knocks and howls were heard through the night as well as movement around the tent and also several tree snaps.
Around 6AM the call of nature called to both Tim and Bob who took turns going out to relieve themselves. Tim when he went out heard something very large crash through the camp and circle around into the woods and something growled at him with the new cat like quality, yet the sound is not exactly that of any cat but we have no other way to described these vocalizations. Bob having worked with bobcat, cougar and tiger in his early career confirms these have a cat like quality but definitely unique with a Bigfoot quality to them. Bob came out next and also was growled at and something large behind the tent ran down the trail and into the woods. Upon searching the area in the morning, tree breaks and a knocked down tree was found as well as 6 fresh prints going down the trail behind the camp. The prints were 18 inches long with 60+ inch stride. Hopefully Tim’s new camera will reveal good photographic evidence once analyzed.
The team also set out new gifts of corn bread and sardines in two areas far out to attract the study subjects, but the morning showed no evidence of interest possibly due to our first presence in their territory at night. Also noted was no evidence of small game such as raccoon or opossum that would have likely taken the bait if available. The team has seen multiple evidence of predation on small animals in the form of skeletal remains likely indicating the small animal population is depleted and is a source of food to Sasquatch.
We hope to return to our habituation study area soon and plan another overnight visit when the weather warms and the area becomes more active. We are again excited about having Tim Peirce join us as his eagerness to learn is intoxicating, and he is genuinely fun to have around, especial when Tom’s ring tone is a Bigfoot scream and Tim jumped every time it went off providing us with several good laughs. Tim will also be assisting in investigation reports in Indiana at Indiana Bigfoot rangers to help expand our efforts to support other states as reports often come into the team via our blog and website. Tim will also be returning with the team for further investigations and training to further hone his already excellent investigation techniques. Again please join the Northern KY Bigfoot Research Group in welcoming Tim as our newest affiliate and team member of the group.
Thanks for your interest and support and stay tuned for upcoming exciting news and more of our efforts to identify the hominid roaming Trimble County Kentucky we all know as Bigfoot.

INVESTIGATION OF AREA AROUND HABITATION AREA 05/16/2014

Today 05/16/2014. I conducted a investigation of the area around the habitation site of any signs of evidence of activity, not wanting to disturbed the habitation area due to the over night investigation Saturday night 05/17/2014 in the heart of the habitation area.
While checking the game trails I happen upon a track way not a couple of hours old.
Tracks measuring around 17 1/2 in length in what appears to be a bedding area.New stick formations were found in the bedding site. As I continued in the wooded area something began moving adjacent to my location and I started  filming with my cell phone.
Photos were taken and measurements
Tomorrow myself and the team will be conducting the over night in this area we should get some good evidence. and a follow up on the evidence found today.

Was a sasquatch a mascot of a sports team part 1

Squatch  was the team mascot for the Seattle Supersonics of the National Basketball Association. Between his 1993 debut and the team's relocation in 2008 to Oklahoma City, Squatch appeared at more than 175 events annually, and was with the organization during their run to the 1996 NBA Finals.
In 2007, Chris Ballew of the rock band Presidents of the United States of America wrote and performed a song about the mascot That same year, Squatch attempted to set a world record with a jump of 30 feet on inline skates, over vehicles owned by NBA players Ray Allen and Robert Swift.
The biography of the Edmonton Rush Lacrosse Club's yeti mascot, Slush, describes a history wherein the two characters grew up together in the Cascade Mountains. Squatch appeared during the Rush's inaugural game to "teach" Slush how to be a professional mascot.
Following the move of the Seattle SuperSonics to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the character was retired, and remains part of the intellectual property (name, colors, et cetera) that the City of Seattle retained as part of the KeyArena lease settlement. The character's performer from 1999-2008 remains under contract with the relocated team.
